Antique long guns - Brunner of Munich, Full Stock Percussion Jaeger Rifle, circa 1845, .65 caliber, steel trigger guard with fabulous engraved woodland scene of a majestic stag and a hunting dog pointing the way, double set trigger, steel lock plate with florally engraved details and engraved maker which reads "M. Brunner in Munchen," the lock also has a highly unusual safety system in that when you pull the hammer back a spring-loaded bar releases and catches the hammer which then retracts at full cock, fabulously carved hammer in the style of a Griffin, percussion bolster inlaid with gold cartouche for "Brunner Munchen," case hardened tang with visible original finish and fancy floral engraving, fabulous German walnut stock with horn for end tip and inlaid engraved pineapple motif where ramrod meets the stock, large cheek rest and deep checkering, steel butt and patch box with matching wooded hunting scenes of locked horn stags and a lone mountain goat, patch box has a hidden release of a quarter turn to the rear swivel, 30-3/4 inch octagonal Damascus barrel with raised chiseled details to front of barrel, blade front site with three leaf adjustable rear. A fabulous example of a German Jaeger rifle in fantastic unmolested condition, a great piece for the German firearms collector or the fellow who wants a desperately pretty rifle to hang above a fireplace. Rifle measures 46.5 inches in length and weighs approximately 8 pounds; includes soft protective gun case. NOTE: No in-house shipping available. CONDITION: Good action, double set triggers function properly; excellent overall cosmetic condition, bright fine bore with hardly any oxidation, metal surfaces have aged to a pleasing dull gray, small dings and fine scratches are scattered about walnut stock and one small crack repair at front of lock plate, several other small dings on barrel and sides, excellent-plus trigger guard.
